Discord Integration

Add the CatchIntent bot to your Discord server to receive real-time signal notifications in any text channel.

  • A Discord server you have admin access to
  • Permission to add bots to the server
  1. Go to Notifications

Navigate to Alerts → Notifications in your dashboard.

  2. Click Add Notification

Select Discord as the notification type.

  3. Add to Discord

Click the Add to Discord button. You’ll be redirected to Discord to authorize the CatchIntent bot.

  4. Select Your Server

Choose which Discord server to add the bot to and click Authorize.

  5. Select a Channel

Back in CatchIntent, select the text channel where you want to receive notifications from the dropdown. Only channels where the bot has permission to send messages will appear.

  6. Test

Click the Test button to send a sample message to the selected channel.

By default, the CatchIntent bot can only send messages to public channels. To receive notifications in a private channel, you need to grant the bot access.

  1. Open Channel Settings

Right-click the private channel in Discord and select Edit Channel.

  2. Go to Permissions

Click Permissions in the left sidebar.

  3. Add the Bot

Click Add members or roles, then search for and select CatchIntent.

  4. Grant Permissions

Make sure the following permissions are set to Allow (green checkmark):

    • View Channel
    • Send Messages
    • Embed Links
  5. Save Changes

Click Save Changes. The private channel will now appear in the channel dropdown in CatchIntent.

Discord messages include:

  • Embed title — Signal summary with link to original post
  • Intent — The type of buying signal detected
  • Platform — Where the signal came from
  • Warmth — Hot, warm, or cool indicator
  • Reasoning — Why this signal matters for your business
  • Links — View signal in dashboard and original post

Create a dedicated channel for signals to avoid mixing with other server activity.

Example channel names:

  • #leads
  • #intent-signals
  • #competitor-mentions

Use Discord reactions to coordinate:

  • React with a check when someone claims a lead
  • Use thread replies to discuss response strategies

To send notifications to a different channel, edit the notification and select a new channel from the dropdown.

If the bot loses access or you want to add it to a different server, click Reconnect in the notification settings. This will restart the authorization flow.

Channel not appearing in the dropdown?

  • The bot needs View Channel and Send Messages permissions on that channel
  • For private channels, follow the Private Channels steps above

Not receiving messages?

  • Verify the bot is still in your server
  • Check that the selected channel still exists
  • Ensure the bot has permission to send messages in the channel

Bot removed from server?

  • Click Reconnect to re-add the bot to your server
