Discord Integration
Add the CatchIntent bot to your Discord server to receive real-time signal notifications in any text channel.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- A Discord server you have admin access to
- Permission to add bots to the server

Go to Notifications
Navigate to Alerts → Notifications in your dashboard.

Click Add Notification
Select Discord as the notification type.

Add to Discord
Click the Add to Discord button. You’ll be redirected to Discord to authorize the CatchIntent bot.

Select Your Server
Choose which Discord server to add the bot to and click Authorize.

Select a Channel
Back in CatchIntent, select the text channel where you want to receive notifications from the dropdown. Only channels where the bot has permission to send messages will appear.

Test
Click the Test button to send a sample message to the selected channel.
Private Channels
Section titled “Private Channels”By default, the CatchIntent bot can only send messages to public channels. To receive notifications in a private channel, you need to grant the bot access.

Open Channel Settings
Right-click the private channel in Discord and select Edit Channel.

Go to Permissions
Click Permissions in the left sidebar.

Add the Bot
Click Add members or roles, then search for and select CatchIntent.

Grant Permissions
Make sure the following permissions are set to Allow (green checkmark):
- View Channel
- Send Messages
- Embed Links

Save Changes
Click Save Changes. The private channel will now appear in the channel dropdown in CatchIntent.
Message Format
Section titled “Message Format”Discord messages include:
- Embed title — Signal summary with link to original post
- Intent — The type of buying signal detected
- Platform — Where the signal came from
- Warmth — Hot, warm, or cool indicator
- Reasoning — Why this signal matters for your business
- Links — View signal in dashboard and original post
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”Dedicated Channel
Section titled “Dedicated Channel”Create a dedicated channel for signals to avoid mixing with other server activity.
Example channel names:
#leads#intent-signals#competitor-mentions
Team Reactions
Section titled “Team Reactions”Use Discord reactions to coordinate:
- React with a check when someone claims a lead
- Use thread replies to discuss response strategies
Changing Channel
Section titled “Changing Channel”To send notifications to a different channel, edit the notification and select a new channel from the dropdown.
Reconnecting
Section titled “Reconnecting”If the bot loses access or you want to add it to a different server, click Reconnect in the notification settings. This will restart the authorization flow.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Channel not appearing in the dropdown?
- The bot needs View Channel and Send Messages permissions on that channel
- For private channels, follow the Private Channels steps above
Not receiving messages?
- Verify the bot is still in your server
- Check that the selected channel still exists
- Ensure the bot has permission to send messages in the channel
Bot removed from server?
- Click Reconnect to re-add the bot to your server
