Quick Start

Get your first signal in under 5 minutes.

  • A CatchIntent account (sign up here)
  • An idea of what you want to monitor (leads, competitors, or your brand)

After signing up, you’ll create your first workspace. This is where all your listeners and signals live.

Add your brand information during setup—this helps CatchIntent suggest relevant keywords later.

  1. Go to Listeners

Click Listeners in the sidebar, then Create Listener.

  2. Choose What You’re Looking For

    Select your goal:

    • Lead Generation — Find people looking for solutions like yours
    • Competitive Intelligence — Monitor what people say about competitors
    • Brand Monitoring — Track mentions of your own product
  3. Select Platforms

Choose where to monitor: Reddit, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Hacker News, and/or Bluesky. Note: X/Twitter and LinkedIn are paid add-ons.

  4. Add Keywords

Enter keywords that indicate what you’re looking for. CatchIntent suggests keywords based on your brand info.

    Good keywords for lead generation:

    • “looking for”, “recommend”, “alternative to”
    • “best tool for”, “vs”, “switching from”

You’ll see a preview of matching posts as you type.

  5. Set Your Threshold

The relevance threshold (0-100) controls how strict the filtering is. Start at 70-75% and adjust later based on signal quality.

  6. Connect Alerts (Optional)

Choose how you want to be notified: Email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, or webhooks.

  7. Create Listener

Give your listener a name and click Create Listener to activate it.

Once your listener is active, CatchIntent starts monitoring immediately. When it finds a relevant conversation, you’ll see it in your Signals dashboard.

Each signal shows you:

  • The original post content
  • A relevance score (higher = better match)
  • Why it was surfaced
  • A direct link to the original post

Click any signal to see the full details and mark it as reviewed or contacted.
