AI Response Suggestions
AI Response Suggestions help you craft the perfect reply to signals. Instead of starting from scratch, get a contextually relevant, brand-voice-aligned suggestion that you can use as-is or customize.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”When you view a signal, CatchIntent can generate a response suggestion based on:
- The signal context — What the person asked or mentioned
- Your brand voice — How you typically communicate
- Platform norms — Appropriate tone for Reddit, X/Twitter, HN, or Bluesky
The result is a 1-3 sentence response that sounds like you wrote it.
Setting Up Your Brand Voice
Section titled “Setting Up Your Brand Voice”For the best response suggestions, configure your brand voice in workspace settings.

Go to Settings
Navigate to Settings → Workspace in your dashboard.

Open Voice Setup
Click Set Up Voice in the Brand Voice section.

Provide Example Responses
You’ll see 4 scenarios that commonly appear in signals:
- Recommendation requests (“What tool do you use for…?”)
- Competitor complaints (“Frustrated with [competitor]…”)
- Comparison questions (“Has anyone tried both…?”)
- Pain point expressions (“We’re struggling with…”)
Write how you would naturally respond to at least 2 of these scenarios.

Set Your Tone
Choose your communication style: Professional, Friendly, Casual, or Authoritative.

Add Personality (Optional)
Add any specific personality traits or things to avoid in responses.

Save
Click Save to apply your voice settings.
Response Styles
Section titled “Response Styles”CatchIntent offers 5 response styles to match different platforms and situations:

CatchIntent automatically suggests the right style based on the platform. You can always override it.
Setting a Default Style
Section titled “Setting a Default Style”You can set your preferred default style in workspace settings:
- Go to Settings → Workspace
- Click Set Up Voice
- Select your Default Response Style
- Save your changes
This style will be pre-selected whenever you generate a response.
Generating Responses
Section titled “Generating Responses”Once your brand voice is set up, you can generate responses from any signal.

Open a Signal
Click on any signal to open the detail panel.

Choose a Style
In the Response Suggestion section, select your preferred response style. The platform default is pre-selected.

Click Generate
Click Generate to create your response.

Review the Suggestion
The AI generates a contextually appropriate response matching your brand voice and selected style.

Edit If Needed
The response appears in an editable text area. Modify it to fit your needs.

Copy and Use
Click Copy to copy the response to your clipboard, then paste it on the original platform.
Regenerating Responses
Section titled “Regenerating Responses”Not happy with the suggestion? You can regenerate with specific feedback.

Click Regenerate
Click the Regenerate button in the response header.

Adjust the Style
Change the response style if the current tone isn’t working.

Add Quick Adjustments
Use the adjustment chips for common tweaks:
- Shorter: Cut to 1-2 sentences
- More technical: Add specific terms and implementation details
- Add CTA: Include a natural call-to-action
- Softer tone: More tentative, less assertive
- More casual: Relaxed, informal language
- More direct: Get to the point faster

Add Custom Feedback (Optional)
Use the text field for specific requests like “mention our free tier” or “focus on the mobile experience”.

Click Regenerate
The AI generates a new response incorporating your feedback.
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”Be Authentic
Section titled “Be Authentic”Response suggestions are starting points. Add personal touches, specific details from your experience, or references to the conversation to make them more authentic.
Follow Platform Rules
Section titled “Follow Platform Rules”Always check community guidelines before posting. Some subreddits have strict rules about self-promotion.
Disclose Your Affiliation
Section titled “Disclose Your Affiliation”If you’re recommending your own product, be transparent about your connection to it.
Provide Value First
Section titled “Provide Value First”The best responses answer the person’s question or address their problem before mentioning your product.
Time Your Responses
Section titled “Time Your Responses”Respond while the conversation is still active. Signals older than 24 hours may have moved on.

Without Brand Voice Setup
Section titled “Without Brand Voice Setup”If you haven’t configured your brand voice, suggestions will still work but will be more generic. You’ll see a prompt to set up your voice for better results.
